Ferndale Public Schools

Gary Sophiea, Director of Operations, has a long history with the Ferndale Public Schools. Mr. Sophiea graduated from Ferndale High School and returned to the district as a teacher and high school basketball coach. He then became a middle school principal at Coolidge Junior High, a Ferndale High School assistant principal and principal of Ferndale Middle School.

As Director of Operations, Mr. Sophiea oversees purchasing, security, food services, building/grounds, transportation, custodial services and is a contractor liaison for the district. Mr. Sophiea also oversees Adult and Alternative Education and the Ferndale Career Center operations.
