Using technology in the school only for facilitating learning and enhancing educational information exchange consistent with the purposes of the school.
Using hardware and software for which they have been trained.
Training will include:
Reading and understanding the Internet Use Policy and these procedures.
Receiving in-service by a designated systems administrator.
Adhering to the rules for use of the hardware, software, labs and networks.
Not knowingly installing computer viruses on school equipment.
Keeping hardware and software from being relocated, removed from school premises, or modified without permission from the systems administrator.
Adhering to printer use guidelines established by the systems administrator.
Maintaining the privacy of passwords.
Preventing all pornographic material, or material that may be interpreted as pornographic, and other inappropriate materials, text files, or files dangerous to the integrity of the school’s network, equipment, or software from entering the school via the Internet.
Maintaining the integrity of the electronic mail system, reporting any violations of privacy and making only e-mail contacts which facilitate educational learning.
Adhering to copyright guidelines in the use of hardware and software and in the transmission or copying of text or files on the Internet or from other resources.
Not using technology for personal or private business, for product advertisement or political lobbying, or for making any financial commitments on the Internet.
Not maliciously using technology to disrupt technology use by others, to harass or discriminate against others, and to infiltrate unauthorized computer systems.
