The board consists of seven school district residents.

Three seats on the Ferndale Public Schools Board of Education will be up for election in the November 4, 2014 General Election. The filing deadline is July 22, 2014. Information about the November 4 election is not yet posted on the Oakland County Clerk’s website, but should be available following the August 5 primary election at www.oakgov.com/clerkrod/elections.

Applications for the three seats are available in the Superintendent’s Office or by calling Kim Shepherd, Administrative Assistant, at 248/586-8652.

In the 2012 election, the two candidates who received the greatest number of votes served
six-year terms, with the next two highest candidates serving four-year terms. In future elections, candidates will serve 6-year terms.

Amy Butters: 5,773 votes (6-year term)
Jim O'Donnell: 5,442 votes (6-year term)
Kevin Deegan-Krause: 4,610 votes (4-year term)
Raylon Leaks-May: 4,472 votes (4-year term)

Any registered voter who lives in the Ferndale School District (including sections of Ferndale, Oak Park and the Charter Township of Royal Oak, and all of Pleasant Ridge) may vote in school elections. Contact your City Clerk for boundary information for Ferndale Schools voters and for your polling location.

Trustees serve without compensation except for reimbursement of expenses.
