Jim O'Donnell was elected in November 2012, and his term expires in December 2018. He has three children, ages 16, 13 and 11, who attend Ferndale High School, Ferndale Middle School and Kennedy Elementary School. He is a PTA member, former president of the Ferndale Library Board, and served on district committees prior to his election. Jim holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and a Master of Business Administration degree from Oakland University. He is employed as Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at Gateway Foundation, a Chicago-based substance abuse treatment provider.

Nancy Kerr-Mueller was elected in 2010, and her term expires December 2014. Nancy has three sons: one attends Coolidge Intermediate School, another attends John F. Kennedy School. She has spent many hours volunteering at Roosevelt, and is a member of the PTA and Ferndale District Ambassadors.
Karen Twomey was elected in May 2009; her term expires December 31, 2014.
Karen Twomey has three children ages 5, 12, and 13 who attend Ferndale Middle School and Kennedy Elementary. She helped to found the Grant PTA, and continues her PTA memberships. Karen holds teaching certifications in Chinese, History and Social Studies, and has a Masters in Educational Leadership and Administration from Michigan State University. As the World Language Department head at Lahser High School, she helps to coordinate and implement IB (International Baccalaureate) programming including her own grades 6-12 Chinese language courses. Karen has earned her Distinguished Achievement award through the MASB (Michigan Association of School Boards) for her extensive training and advocacy at both the state and national level.

Amy Butters is a journalist and Ferndale Public Schools parent who has lived in the area since 2000, first in Ferndale for nine years, and in Pleasant Ridge until the present. She and her husband, Jamie, and have three daughters – one in middle school and two in elementary. She has a bachelor's degree in news-editorial from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, her home state. Her most recent editing position was at the Detroit Free Press. Her district work has included PTA committees, fine arts events, the 2012 school bond campaign and the Ferndale Education Foundation.

Kevin Deegan-Krause was elected in November 2012. His term expires in 2016. He is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Wayne State University and former President of the Ferndale Public Library Board. He and his wife Bridget are active members of local school and community groups and are the parents of two students at Kennedy Elementary.
Jennifer and her partner Kathleen have two children who attend John F. Kennedy School. Jennifer, an attorney with Miller, Canfield, Paddock & Stone, P.L.C., has been a resident of Ferndale since 1995, is an active school volunteer and PTA member, and served on the District's Strategic Planning Committee.
Raylon Leaks-May was elected to serve a four-year term beginning January 1, 2013; her term will expire December 31, 2016.
Raylon Leaks-May was elected to the Ferndale School Board in November 2012; her term expires in December 2016. She is a mother of five children ages 5, 7, 9, 11 and 25, the eldest was a 2005 Ferndale High School graduate and has more than 20 years volunteer experience with the Ferndale Public Schools. Raylon has served on various committees in the district, such as the Ferndale Education Foundation, is a Licensed Insurance Agent by profession and holds an A.A. & A.S. from Oakland Community College as well as a B.A. from Madonna University.
