Congratulations to the Marching Band 
- on a 4th State Championship- IN A ROW! The Golden Eagles extended their winning streak at the November 3 State Championships, held at Ford Field.
Congratulations Class of 2007! This successful class earned a combined total of $1,670,476 in scholarships! The class included 230 graduates, of whom 83% will attend college, 4% will enter a trade/technical school, 4% will enlist in the armed forces, 3% will enter the work world, and 6% are undecided.
The FHS Boys Track & Field Team finished 5th at the Division II State Championships. This is the highest Eagle finish since 1972. Jarrod Hamilton is the State Champion in the 400 meter with a metric school record of 49.11 seconds! Earnest Cleary placed 5th in the 100m with a time of 11.05 seconds. Ian Reeves is the first FHS athlete to earn All-State Honors in 3 sports: Football, Wrestling & Track. The 4X100m relay team (Ian Reeves, Steven Heard, Jarrod Hamilton & Earnest Cleary) finished 3rd in the State with a school record of 43.49 seconds. The 4X200m relay team (Dirk Beard, Steven Heard, Jarrod Hamilton & Earnest Cleary) finished 4th.
Roosevelt Primary School is a Winner of the 2007 Education Excellence Award presented by the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) & a 2007 National Schools of Character Promising Practices Award!
Congratulations to University High School teacher Leonard Meraw and five of his students who received a U.S. Patent for their design of a vehicle center console that incorporates an iPod® docking station.
