Richard's Story
Imagine devoting yourself to a profession and a company for 10 years and suddenly finding out that not only are you not needed by the company but, also becoming keenly aware that your skills are no longer in demand. This is where Richard D. found himself. Richard turned to the Ferndale Career Center (FCC) to assist him in finding a new career through the NAFTA/TAA program. After testing, assessment and research conducted at the FCC, Richard was also given assistance with his resume, cover letters and job postings. Richard found work as a truck driver and employed by the City of Detroit earning $11.00 per hour. Richard attributes his newfound success and career to his commitment to his established goal and the staff at the Ferndale Career Center.
