Overview
Business service providers can help you to identify financial support, programs and available funding to assist you in training employees
On-the-Job Training Program
On-the-Job Trainings (OJTs) prepare new hires for permanent employment with companies by addressing gaps in an individual’s skill level that would hinder them from fully performing in a new job or industry. Funds provided under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) help employers offset initial training costs to fill positions as the employee learns skills essential to performance.
For more information about OJTs, download the brochures below, or contact your local Michigan Works! agency.
Youth Mentorship Program
The Youth Mentorship Program offers eligible young people (ages 14-21) the opportunity to intern with local businesses and organizations in a mentorship-scenario designed to help participants build upon their basic work skills, work maturity and occupation specific skills. Best of all, it provides an employee at absolutely no cost to the employer! For more information, please download the flyer, or contact the Ferndale Career Center at 248-545-0222.
If you are a young person interested in participating, please click here.
