Ferndale orchestra teacher Ben Moy was named Teacher of the Year for District 4 by the Michigan School Band & Orchestra Association (MSBOA). Fittingly, Moy, who also swings a mean lightsaber, learned he had received the award on May 4th (May the 4th Be With You), also known as international Star Wars Day.
Congratulations, Ben. We're so glad you have been recognized outside the district for the amazing work we have grown to appreciate over the years.
The Ferndale Schools State of the District address was offered on March 7, 2017. In case you missed it, the following is a transcript of that address.
Last week the Ferndale High School Impi Warrior Robotics Team had a great showing at the Southfield Regional Competition. The team was ranked 11th and was selected by Alliance #2 to play in the final matches. The team performed well but lost in the semi-finals. Currently, the FHS Impi Warriors are ranked 25th in the State! Next up, the Impis head to Gaylord this weekend for another competition. Good luck!
This afternoon, Matthew Hall and Cornel Clarke both signed their National Letters of Intent to attend and play football at Aurora University in the FHS Nest multimedia center surrounded by family, friends, and Ferndale High School family. Aurora University is located in Aurora, Illinois and is the home of the Spartans a NCAA Division III football team. Congratulations to both Math and Cornel!
