Dear Parents and Guardians:
The most exciting communication I get to write is the “welcome back to school” letter. It is wonderful to anticipate the start of another school year, and while I hope you all had a relaxing and rejuvenating summer, I also hope you are eager to get back to the business of learning. As usual, you will find that all of the staff at FMS is ready to begin a new year full of challenges and opportunities for success.
There are lots of exciting changes at FMS. We have many new staff members and I know you will impressed once you meet them. The building has been cleaned, buffed and is shining. We have a new front office set-up which will allow us to be much more efficient. Finally, thanks to your generous support, we have a BEAUTIFUL newly landscaped commons/courtyard area. You are invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the new courtyard on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 5:30pm.
Please know that I am truly looking forward to another fantastic year of growth and development. We have tweaked lots of things during the past year, and we are looking forward to adding some new ideas to our teaching and learning cycle. Remember that I maintain an open-door policy, so feel free to stop in and say hello as your schedule allows. In closing, I would like to leave you with a quote from Gilbert Highet: “A very wise old teacher once said: ‘I consider a day’s teaching is wasted if we do not all have one hearty laugh.’ He meant that when people laugh together, they cease to be young and old, master and pupils……they become a single group of human beings enjoying its existence." We are all excited about the learning and laughter which will take place at FMS this year!
Sincerely,
Dawn M. Warren
