Kiada Watts is pleased to be Grant’s new Site Supervisor! She has been with Ferndale Public Schools for almost four years, but has over ten years experience working with children. However, she has held various positions from Lead Teacher and Early Childhood Consultant in a private preschool setting to an Educational Specialist for a consulting company.
She believes all children are unique and can learn, yet may do so at their individual pace. She assures classrooms with developmentally appropriate tasks, utilization of multiple intelligences, and differentiated instruction in accordance with High Scope Curriculum. Mrs. Watts’ understands the development of the whole child and emphasizes the importance of parental involvement.
She holds a State of Michigan Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood Endorsement. She obtained her Bachelors Degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Child Development from Grand Valley State University (MI), a Masters Degree in Family and Child Studies from Miami University (OH), and completed her Teacher's Certification program at Wayne State University (MI). She is currently in pursuit of an Administrator’s Certificate. Aside from being a dedicated educator, she is also a wife and mother of two small children.
Mrs. Watts’ will work tirelessly to ensure a safe, nurturing environment – where the love of learning will take root and a solid academic foundation will develop in each child that attends Grant Early Childhood Center.
