Homecoming Week, Parade & Tailgate Are Coming!
School spirit is in full swing at FHS & UHS as students and faculty prepare for Spirit Week on September 26th–October 1st.
Friday, September 30th is Homecoming.
Parade to Tailgate
Beginning at 4:30, the Annual Eagle Pride Parade & Tailgate marches west on Woodward to Pinecrest, turning south to FHS for the tailgate festivities. This year will feature bounce houses, covered seating with a DJ, and food for sale from SlyDogs.
UHS will be hosting a Masquerade Ball on Saturday, while the FHS theme is Glowcoming.
Once again, Ferndale Schools will be hosting a parade down 9 Mile, followed by a community Tailgate event, featuring games, prizes, live music, and food trucks. All are welcome, and admission to the Parade and Tailgate are free. Stick around after the tailgate to see our Ferndale Eagles Football team!
Parade
- 4:00pm staging / 4:30 pm Start
- Route: Planavon and 9 Mile, West to Pinecrest, South to FHS
Tailgate
- 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
- Food Truck - Sly Dogs
- Sly Dogs serves all beef hotdogs
- Vegetarian options are available
- Sly dogs accepts cash, credit cards, and Venmo
Kick Off
- 7pm!
- Tickets (Cash only)
- $3 for students with an ID
- $5 for adults
- $3 for senior citizens
- Food is available inside the stadium at the concession stand which accepts cash.

Students from FHS, UHS, and TCEC attended the Southeast MiCareer Quest event last Tuesday held annually at Suburban Showplace in Novi. Employers and training institutions from around Michigan provided students with hands on experiences in four career quadrants including Advanced Manufacturing, Healthcare, Construction and Information Technology. Students tried out new technology, asked questions and participated in computerized and VR simulations. Students learned about possible career pathways and opportunities in their areas of interest.
Oakland Schools' ACE Early College is currently accepting 11th grade applications for Winter 2024 enrollment. UHS senior traveled to Oakland University on Friday for a campus tour. Students toured academic buildings, the basketball arena, and on campus housing. We ended our day with lunch in the student center. Students were especially excited to see the dorm rooms. We have several future Grizzlies in the group!
On Tuesday, October 24th, the Seniors at UHS visited Westview Orchards for a class culture trip. It was a GORGEOUS Fall day when students embarked on a wagon ride to pick pumpkins, enjoyed apple cider and donuts, and explored the farm. It was such an enjoyable day!
University High hosted a College Fair. We had over 60 colleges send representatives. All grades of University High students attended as well as seniors from Ferndale High and Tri-County Educational Center. These students had the chance to meet with representatives from across the state and acquire more knowledge about their options post high school.
