When will my child learn who their teacher is?



Little Eagle students (tuition-based) will be given their class assignment at the Meet and Greet scheduled for Wednesday, August 28th from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  

Head Start and GSRP students will be given their class assignment at the Open House scheduled for Thursday, September 5th from 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.  

If you are unable to attend the Meet and Greet or Open House, please call the front office at 248-586-8820 to receive class assignment the following day.

Lower Elementary at Roosevelt

Wednesday, August 28th from 4:30 p.m. -­ 6:30 p.m. on the Lower Elementary Playground, during the Popsicles with Principals event.

Student Orientation and Registration will be on August 27-28 th from 2:00 - 6:00 pm. Students will take picture ID's and pick-up their schedules.

Curriculum Night will be September 19th from 6:30-7:45 pm.

Ferndale High School

Students will receive teacher assignments and schedules at their registration.

  • All 10th Graders | Wednesday, August 28th | 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
  • All 11th & 12th Graders | Tuesday | August 27th

Any student that is unable to attend their designated registration and schedule pick up time will be

When will my child learn their bus assignment?

You will receive a letter in the mail with your child's bus assignment. If you have not received a letter in the mail by Wednesday, August 31st, contact our transportation department: 248-586-8890.

Food Service

Ferndale Schools participates in the National School Lunch Program. Families that qualify can receive free or reduced price meals. Families that were approved last year must fill out a new application form as soon as possible to continue assistance Applications are available online at or in the school office. Only one application per family is required. Also, if you would like to add money to your student’s account, you can follow these steps: 

  1. Parent/Guardian log into MiStar
  2. Click on child
  3. Go to Cafeteria section
  4. Click on Online Food Service Payments
  5. Put the amount in the amount box
  6. Click Continue
  7. Click Checkout
  8. this will send you to Pay Schools, and prompts will guide you through the rest of the process.

Nuts & Allergens: Safe Snack

This is a reminder that FECC, the Lower Elementary, and FUEL are all nut-, tree nut-, and sesame-restricted buildings. Please be mindful when packing school lunches and snacks that items can not contain nuts, tree nuts, or sesame. Please check packages carefully and review our Safe Snacks list. Working together, we will continue to provide a safe school experience for all our children - and we thank you in advance for supporting all of our students.

Please remember, FUEL also has a no-cake, no-cupcakes rule for birthday celebrations. Please follow safe snack guidelines for any birthday celebrations or consider a non-food treat. Book or game donations to the classroom in honor of your child is always a great alternative to a food celebration!

Medical Authorization and Medical Release Form

If your child has a severe medical condition or allergy that could potentially require medical attention at school (i.e. a food allergy, bee sting allergy, asthma), we will need a medical authorization form and medication release form. Both of these should be submitted to the FUEL office by the first day of school, along with any accompanying medications (Epi-pens, Benedryl, etc).
