On March 28, Ferndale students visited the Detroit Institute of Arts for a powerful experience based around their new book, Your Crown Shines: For Ketanji Brown Jackson and You. Jessica Care Moore and Dare Coulter brought the story to life, exploring its meaning through words and art. Inspired by Ketanji Brown Jackson, the book highlights perseverance and identity. Students engaged in discussion and a crown-making activity, reflecting on their own goals. The trip encouraged connection, representation, and self-belief, reminding every student that their story matters and their crown shines.
