students visited a career training center

Students visited the state-of-the-art training center for Michigan's Regional Council of Carpenters & Millwrights (MRCC) for Career Day this week. They explored shop areas, a welding lab, a machinery alignment lab, a sand pit for building, real-life mockups, classrooms, and more. Students discovered career pathways to become a Carpenter, Floor Layer, Millwright, Pile Driver, or Solar Installer with hands-on tool experience. Opportunities like this empower students to make informed decisions about their post-secondary pathway. Maisoun Mando teaches Marketing at Ferndale High School and has worked in Career Technical Education for over a decade. She says, "They deserve to know about their options—like this four-year, debt-free, paid apprenticeship program." Students can learn more about the program at Build MI Furniture.com
