students collect candy and treats in the nest during Harvest Festival.

Harvest Festival at FHS was a fun and safe celebration designed especially for Ferndale High School students with disabilities who receive specialized support—and this year, the event expanded to include Ferndale Middle School students too!

On Friday, October 31st, staff volunteers transformed The Nest into a festive indoor trick-or-treat experience, creating a warm, inclusive environment where every student could join in the fun.

This wonderful tradition was started by a former FPS employee, Shawn Jones, who loved seeing the joy on students’ faces and chose to keep the celebration going, even after retirement. We’re thrilled to continue this special event and can’t wait to see the smiles again next year!
