Free school meals will continue for all students in Ferndale Schools, despite funding uncertainty. “This ensures that every child has access to healthy meals, removes barriers for families and helps students stay focused on learning rather than worrying about food,” Superintendent Camille Hibbler announced Tuesday afternoon.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer and legislative leaders have agreed to include funding for free school meals in the pending budget, but drafting continues on the actual bill.
