G'day Mates!! On February 12, FLower students enjoyed an annual tradition - a virtual trip not only out of the city, but out of the country! This time, they packed their bags, got their boarding passes, checked in, boarded the SOAR airlines virtually, from Detroit to Sydney, taking off at 8:45 a.m. Just 20 hours (or a few minutes) and 9,500 miles later, students landed in 80 degree weather, since seasons are opposite in Australia! Captain Keefe guided the super jumbo jet through a bit of turbulence and landed on time. Students researched Australia, made dioramas, posters of the country, learning about the animals, geography, recipes and the people, and everything about tiger snakes to koalas, kangaroos and even crocodiles! Special thanks to the teachers, school leaders and parent volunteers who helped us with this amazing trip!
