Every year student K-5 participate in The Great Kindness Challenge that is the last week in January. Students spend a whole week really focusing on kind tasks. The students have checklists that encourage them to do kind acts at school as well at home. This year, Lower's theme was 'Cultivate Kindness.' Besides working on their checklist, students had the opportunity to do kind acts at school that would result in them receiving a flower or vegetable for the school kindness garden. Students who turned in their finished checklist received a certificate and a kind magnet that they could display at home.
