Ferndale Public Schools Voters Approve $114.8M Bond Proposal

Support for Students, Schools, and Spaces That Inspire

Ferndale, MI — Ferndale Public Schools is proud to announce the successful passage of its 2025 Bond Proposal, following today’s election. While official results are still being finalized by Oakland County, early returns reflect strong support from the community. The approved bond, totaling $114.8 million, will allow the district to move forward with planned improvements to the Ferndale Middle and High School campus.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Ferndale community for once again showing strong support for our students and schools,” said Superintendent Camille Hibbler. “This bond builds on the success of our 2020 initiative and brings long-overdue investment to our secondary learning environments.”

The 2025 Bond will support the development of modern, flexible learning spaces and address long-standing facility needs while maintaining the current tax rate for residents. Planned enhancements include replacing aging infrastructure, reimagining shared spaces to support 21st-century learning, improving safety and access throughout the building, and upgrading areas that support student services and the arts.

“This outcome reflects a shared vision for the future of Ferndale Public Schools,” said Hibbler. “It is also a testament to the dedication of our families, staff, and community partners who engaged in meaningful dialogue and helped spread the word. We thank everyone who took the time to learn about the proposal and cast their vote.”

Board of Education President Sandra Dukhie added, “This is a proud day for our district. The passage of this bond reaffirms that our community believes in the importance of strong public schools and is willing to invest in the spaces where students learn and grow. On behalf of the Board, I want to thank the community for their trust and partnership.”
