On Monday, March 9, students in the Learning Resource Center (LRC) at FMS celebrated the completion of their publishing project during the LRC Publishing Party. Under the guidance of Resource Room teacher Mrs. Baldwin, students spent the year writing, editing, and illustrating their own books as a culminating literacy assignment. Their books were professionally published through Studentreasures Publishing, allowing students to experience the full writing-to-publication process.
The event highlighted their accomplishments as students proudly shared the books they authored and participated in an author signing, where parents and staff who purchased copies had the opportunity to have their books personally signed by the student authors. Students also celebrated their achievement with cupcakes and certificates recognizing their hard work and dedication.
The celebration recognized students’ growth in literacy, confidence, and self-expression while honoring the commitment they demonstrated throughout the writing and publishing process. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our young authors and the meaningful stories they created.
