On May 6th, FPS celebrated National Bike & Roll to School Day by highlighting the amazing Ferndale Bike Bus, which is back in action! It has quickly become a favorite daily tradition for our families, proving that the best way to start the school day is on two wheels.
Each morning, students at Ferndale Lower Elementary School and Ferndale Upper Elementary School (FUEL) safely ride their bikes together to school, picking up more riders at various "bike bus stops" around the neighborhood. Last week, CBS Detroit stopped by and covered this story as well!!
Local bike advocates chaperone the daily rides, helping students travel to school safely and develop confidence on their bikes. Our local bike bus is part of a global movement! If you would like to join the Ferndale Bike Bus or learn more, please get in touch via facebook.
