Ferndale Public Schools is inviting students and families to learn about the Acorn2Oak Grants program, a Leadership Oakland and Oakland County initiative that awards funding to young people with a project or dream worth chasing. The next application review round closes Monday, September 15, and the district encourages any eligible student to apply before the deadline.

Acorn2Oak grants of up to $1,000 are open to Oakland County residents ages 8 to 18 and can support a wide range of pursuits, including:

• Business and Entrepreneurial Development — for aspiring young entrepreneurs

• Community Impact — for youth making a difference in their communities

• Educational Achievement — for academic programs, competitions or training

• Extracurricular Investment — for activities that align with personal growth

A reminder that EVERY Wednesday is an Early Release Day. Please plan for students to be dismissed at the following times:

• FECC: 8 am - 2 pm
• Ferndale Lower: 8:20 AM – 2:20 PM
• Ferndale Upper: 8:38 AM - 2:38 PM
• FMS: 8 am - 2 pm
• FHS: 8 am - 2 pm
• TCEC: 8:30 AM - 1:50 PM

FPS ALL CLEAR: The tornado warning has been lifted and Shelter status has ended. Drop-offs and pick-ups may resume. Beginning at 4:30 p.m., buses temporarily rerouted for safety will resume and finish their regular routes. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
