Ferndale Public Schools welcomes Thomas Shelton as its new Director of Human Resources. Shelton joins the administrative cabinet team offering 29 years of experience in education, including teacher, counselor, and principal. Shelton also has direct experience with the district as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources for Ferndale Schools from 2014 to 2017.

Shelton believes that Human Resources plays a critical role in serving the employees of the organization, with a primary mission to meet their professional and personal needs. He further explains that clear and consistent communication, responsiveness, trust, accessibility, and accountability are critical to leading a successful department.
