community gathers for an evening with neurodiverse folks

On November 12, The Ferndale Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) proudly partnered with Fair Ferndale to host A Night with Neurodivergent Folks, an inspiring and heartfelt community event. This special evening was made possible with the support of Ferndale Youth Assistance and the Southeast Oakland Coalition.

The event began with a delicious dinner sponsored by Ferndale’s PAC, followed by a powerful program featuring a guest speaker and moving testimonials from autistic adults sharing their lived experiences. One of the evening’s most touching moments came when one of the speakers (a former FPS student) expressed sincere gratitude to his teacher, Marjorie Bresson, crediting her for providing a strong foundation for growth and lifelong success. We appreciate Ms. Bresson's continued contributions and positive impact on all her students in FPS.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Ferndale parent, Amy Blatt, whose leadership and dedication were instrumental in bringing this collaboration and event to life.

Together, we continue to celebrate inclusion, understanding, and the incredible contributions of our neurodivergent community.
