new bathrooms were updated using bond dollars

Ferndale Public Schools continued its commitment to providing safe, modern, and innovative learning environments this summer through several completed bond and sinking fund projects.

Funded by the 2020 Bond, approved by voters in 2019, the district made substantial upgrades across multiple school buildings. At the Ferndale Early Childhood Center, new classroom lavatories were added, making it easier for teachers to manage their classrooms and support students’ needs. Ferndale High School saw significant improvements as well, with updated lavatories in the Commons area and on the first floor.

At University High School, a series of renovations transformed the building’s learning spaces. Classrooms received new ceilings, flooring, and updated technology. Locker rooms and lavatories were completely renovated, and construction continues on a new secure vestibule and main office, both scheduled for completion and occupancy by November 2025. In addition, new classroom furnishings are set to arrive over the December holiday break, further enhancing the learning environment.

Other completed projects included installation of digital signage and clocks at Ferndale Central Administration Building, Tri-County Educational Center and University High School, respectively.

Using Sinking Fund dollars, the district also completed the renovation of the Ferndale High School track, improving both safety and functionality for students and community athletes alike.
