This month, several teachers at Ferndale Lower received a set of books from “The Conscious Kid” organization. These diverse children’s books support our commitment to anti-bias and inclusive classrooms. Ms. Randle, Mrs. Islam, and Mrs. Swartzmiller were each excited to present 40 new books to students worth nearly $300 per classroom. The Conscious Kid believes “that kids aren’t too young to learn about race, identity, and justice. In fact, they’re already paying attention. Our mission is to help you meet their questions with love, clarity, and confidence—and to offer tools that grow with your family or classroom.”
