On January 20, Ferndale Upper Elementary School (FUEL) received a special visitor! FUEL unexpectedly won a FREE author visit and assembly from Michigan Chillers author, Johnathan Rand! One of our Montessori students, Elliot Rauchman, was at a book signing with him and submitted our name to a raffle - and we won!
Rand was born in Pontiac, and has authored 120+ horror and mystery fiction books for children and young adults, with nearly 7 million copies in print.
During the assembly, Rand discussed how all of the steps you take on your journey help you achieve your dreams. In Rand’s case, working at a radio station during college started his love of reading, writing, listening and reciting the stories he loves to tell. Rand also taught the students how to make a spooky laugh!!
Almost all of Rand’s books take place in Michigan. This is the author’s second visit to FUEL. He last visited in 2017.
