On March 24, students in Mrs. Bennett's CTE Business Management Class at FHS participated in "the big reveal," of their classroom business venture project. This project tasks the students with creating a business Idea and building the brand from scratch. Students participated in a mock launch and presentation of their businesses "FHS Soul and Sweets" and "Crystal Cream" Ice Cream. Students were divided into department groups and worked together in the roles and responsibilities of each department. The departments consisted of marketing, management, CEO, products and services, and human resources.
Creating a logo, financial plan, hiring/staffing, social media, messaging, marketing are some of the learning objectives that each student was able to receive first hand. This was definitely the sweet taste of success for these students, as they were able to taste their products, along with many staff members...The "Soul and Sweets" spread included cornbread, fried chicken, baked beans, banana pudding, cupcakes and of course rich and creamy "Crystal Cream" ice cream! All of the food was given an A+ grade, across the board!
