The University High School Unibots Robotics Team (#10665) had a great year competing against teams from across Southeast Michigan. Finishing in the middle of 40 teams at their first competition, they overcame significant issues with the robot, took setbacks in stride, adapted their strategy, and finished strong. They built on these accomplishments in their second competition: they finished in the top half of teams during qualifications, earned selection for the finals with the 6th-place alliance, and advanced to the third round of the finals with their student-built, student-driven robot, marking a strong end to their second year as a team.

Mr. Back teaches science and advises the Robotics Team at UHS. “[The Unibots robot] was truly student-driven, not designed or built by the mentors or coaches. This was true student grit and determination that allowed them to succeed.”
