In Room 10 at Ferndale Early Childhood Center, STEM is a hands-on adventure! Whether children are exploring surface tension through bubble-making and "milk fireworks" or observing capillary action with paper towel rainbows, they are acting as young scientists. Color mixing and sorting build foundational logic, while stacking cup castles introduces engineering and spatial awareness.
In the HighScope framework, these activities drive the "Scientific Inquiry" and "Early Mathematics". By moving through the Plan-Do-Review cycle, children don’t just watch experiments; they actively manipulate materials, make predictions, and reflect on their discoveries, fostering a lifelong love for learning.
