Torrance Greene Ferndale Lower AP

FERNDALE, Mich. Ferndale Public Schools has appointed Torrence Greene as elementary assistant principal at Ferndale Lower Elementary, effective July 1, 2026.

Greene brings more than 20 years of experience in educational leadership, student support and school culture. Throughout his career, he has been dedicated to fostering safe, inclusive learning environments where students are empowered to grow academically, socially and emotionally.

"It is an honor to continue serving the Ferndale community in this new role," Greene said. "I look forward to working alongside our outstanding staff, students and families to build strong relationships, support student success and create a school community where every child feels welcomed, valued and inspired to reach their full potential."

Most recently, Greene served as Ferndale Public Schools' student support network coordinator, where he partnered with students, families and community organizations to connect them with critical resources and remove barriers to student success. His work strengthened collaboration between schools and families while advancing the district's commitment to supporting the whole child.

Greene's leadership experience also includes serving as a principal, assistant principal and dean of culture. Throughout those roles, he focused on strengthening school culture, supporting educators, engaging families and improving student outcomes.

"Torrence has been an invaluable leader for our district and someone who consistently puts students first," said Camille Hibbler, superintendent for Ferndale Public Schools. "His ability to build meaningful relationships with families and support both students and staff makes him an outstanding fit for Ferndale Lower Elementary. We are excited to see him continue serving our students and families in this role."

Greene earned a Master of Science in administration from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor of Science in social work from Eastern Michigan University. His background in educational leadership and student advocacy continues to shape his collaborative approach to supporting student achievement and well-being.

As elementary assistant principal, Greene will work alongside school leaders, teachers and families to cultivate a positive, student-centered learning environment where every child has the opportunity to thrive.
