Ferndale Welcome Back

FERNDALE, Mich. — Ferndale Public Schools is ready to welcome students, families and staff back for the 2026-27 school year, with the first day of classes beginning Monday, Aug. 31.

Across the district, teachers, administrators and staff have spent the final weeks of summer preparing classrooms, buildings and programs for another year of learning and growth. From early childhood through high school, Ferndale Schools remains focused on creating engaging, supportive learning environments where every student has the opportunity to thrive.

“We are excited to welcome our students and families back to Ferndale for another incredible school year,” Superintendent Camille Hibbler said. “Our staff has worked intentionally to prepare for our students, and we are looking forward to building on the momentum happening throughout our district. Everything we do begins with ensuring our students feel supported, challenged and connected.”

The new school year will continue the district’s commitment to academic achievement, student-centered learning, inclusive educational opportunities and strong connections between schools, families and the Ferndale community.

Families will also see continued progress across Ferndale Schools as the district advances facility improvements, strengthens academic and student support programs and creates new opportunities for students to explore their interests, develop their talents and prepare for life beyond graduation.

Ahead of the first day, Ferndale Schools will bring families and the community together for its Back-to-School Blast from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, at the Ferndale High School football field. The districtwide celebration will help families connect with schools, staff and community resources while preparing students for the year ahead.

Families are encouraged to visit their individual school websites and the Ferndale Public Schools website for welcome-back information, calendars, schedules and other important resources.

For families still completing new student enrollment, all required paperwork must be submitted and processed by noon Thursday, Aug. 27, for students to begin classes on Aug. 31.

As students return to classrooms, Ferndale Public Schools enters the 2026-27 school year with a shared commitment to its students, families and community — and a continued belief that The Future is Ferndale.
