FERNDALE, Mich. — Neighborhood Legal Services Michigan, through its Children's Education Division, presented a $10,000 donation to Ferndale Public Schools at Monday's, Sept. 21, Board of Education meeting to support the district's future career and workforce development programs.

The contribution will help Ferndale Schools strengthen long-term opportunities for students as they explore college, skilled trades and other postsecondary pathways.

"This investment in our students proves the power of community partnerships," said Camille Hibbler, superintendent of Ferndale Public Schools. "Support from Neighborhood Legal Services Michigan helps us expand career and workforce development opportunities so more students leave our district prepared for whatever comes next."

The donation is part of Neighborhood Legal Services Michigan's broader commitment to educational equity and long-term student success.

"We believe that when students are given real pathways into careers and higher education, entire communities benefit," said Darryl Bingham, deputy director of the Children's Education Division of Neighborhood Legal Services Michigan. "By supporting Ferndale Public Schools, we are investing in the future workforce and helping to close gaps that can stand between young people and their goals."

Neighborhood Legal Services Michigan leaders emphasized that the organization intends for the funds to provide flexible support for the district's priorities around career readiness and student opportunity.

Ferndale Public Schools will determine how best to use the funds to enhance programs and initiatives that connect students with real-world experiences and future career pathways.
